SEARCH ENGINES Google- The search engine for people who do not have a great search program like Copernic 2000; it's fast and easy. Excite- My Excite is a real good homepage to set up on your browser; News, weather, and all that cool stuff. They also offer a free ISP service. WEB BASED APPLICATIONS SITES Intranets.com is a great place to set up a free virtual intranet for sharing files, messages, calendars, etc., with your associates securely. Use up to 25 megs of space at no cost each month. HotOffice is very much like Intranets, and claim to have over 3 million free intranets in place at this time. DialPad is an incredible way to make absolutely free long-distance phone calls from your PC (headset recommended) to any number in the United States. I've used it on 56 k connections (running at 44000) and had good clarity and signal. Check it out. No need to have MSN messenger using up your resources when you can just go to this incredible, hassle free site. Evite.com is a great way to send out announcements and invitations to web and non-web based events, again absolutely free. Lots of other services too. FREE SOFTWARE Freeware Home has a tremendous selection of absolutely free software covering a wide variety of applications and programs. Registration, fee, etc., are just not an issue. Some excellent stuff. PROGRAMZ is a very popular site for getting free complete versions of a variety of software applications like Copernic 2000, Paint Shop Pro, etc. 36 free programs on this one site. Tucows is the premiere shareware and freeware site on the web. You can pick the server that is closest to your location along with an integrity rating for each server.
